A Data, Print & Web Resource
|
Integrated Digital Design for the New Millenium |
By Yours Truly
|
|
Resource Systems OnLine is for anyone interested
in computing information and services, although it is primarily
geared for small businesses who might not otherwise have ready
access or budget for our range and type of specialized services.
You will find information and service descriptions that profile
Resource Systems Services, its interest in these varied digital
fields from database development for small businesses to
graphical design for Print and Web, ulimatedly, to the technical
and what RSS may be able to do for you.

The four major sections of this site are labelled atop each
page with single-word descriptions, for succinctness and graphical
clarity. However, each section's topical focus may not be immediately
clear using only one-word descriptions. So, what follows may
be of help to making this site more useful, meaningful and navigable
for you: |

ABOUT: Did you ever want to know
just what Resource Systems Services is, and who runs the show?
Probably not. But you'll find out anyway, if you venture into
this section. However, to avoid its being wholly self-serving
and patently dull, you should be able to find more than mere
background-skillset-program-scope stuff. Littered carefully
among the seamingly random prose should be breif treatises
of dreams and aspirations; what makes up the 10% after the
perspiration; and links to other sites I have designed or
had a role in designing.
DESIGN: Corp ID, Data, Logo, Print
& Web. Samples of logos I have developed and my perspective
on the directions and quality of logo work in the marketplace.
Relational database design and my perspective on what to use
to optimize the benefits of cross-platform development and
what is most facile for the client to inherit and maintain,
once the project is handed off.
SYSTEMS: I work primarily on a
Mac, but provide Windows OS support when needed, as well as
use Windows applications under a Pentium Virtual Machine environment
on a Mac. The resulting orientation gives me perspective,
if not outright opinions, on the strengths and weaknesses
of given operating systems. Recommendations, tips and links
to Mac and Windows sites.
TECH: This section is not as geeky
as the name may suggest. Although it may get technical, including
discussions of file formats, for example, the "tech" also
refers to "techniques," computing and design tips which you
may find helpful or, perhaps, amusing.

IMPORTANT:
This button activates a JavaScripted e-Mail function on the
standard Website pages (i.e., black background pages) that
automatically inserts a "Subject" line based on the page from
which you clicked...and also places a reference to the exact
page in the body copy. This helps provide a context by which
your comments can be more immediately interpreted. For this
to work, you must have JavaScript enabled in your browser
preferences.
BROWSER NOTE: You
won't need Java¨ to view this site, but you will need to have
JavaScript¨ for this site to work well for you. Be sure it
is enabled among your browser's "Preferences" settings.
DISPLAY NOTE: This
site is best viewed with your monitor set to 800x600 or better.
A 640x480 setting (more common by default on older 15" or
smaller displays) will prove frustrating, as you need to scroll
laterally just to capture the core width of page content.

BTW: The nifty rollover remarks on these printer-friendly
pages are compliments of OverLIB, a tremendously consistent, configurable
and thouroughly designed JavaScript by Erik Bosrup. The rollover graphic
buttons are compliments of freebuttons. com. |
